About The Company

Good Business Lab (www.goodbusinesslab.org) is an independent, non-profit labor innovation company that uses rigorous research methods to design, develop, and test scalable, market-ready interventions capable of providing dual benefits to workers and businesses.

The founders of the lab are Ach Adhvaryu - Assistant Professor of Business Economics and Public Policy at the University of Michigan (www.achadhvaryu.com), Anant Ahuja-head of Organization Development at Shahi Exports Pvt. Ltd., and Anant Nyshadham- Assistant Professor of Economics at Boston College (www.anantnyshadham.com).

We have been incubated at Shahi Exports, India's biggest apparel export house, where we have conducted several studies in their sixty plus factories in the past six years. Some of our other partners include the Harvard Business School, University of Pennsylvania, the United Nations Development Program, and Humanity United.

The Entrepreneur-In-Residence (EIR) will be responsible for developing new intrapreneurial opportunities and expanding existing opportunities. They should be a highly motivated, driven individual who is willing to learn the ropes of our operations- everything from research, design, product, operations, and growth. They must be willing to get their hands dirty.


They will be a part of GBL’s new and upcoming “ventures” vertical, which houses our research-based tools (to be spun off as for profit entities in the future), and will be coordinating with other verticals such as marketing, partnerships, design, tech, and research. Given the nascent stage of this vertical, the EiR will have unparalleled opportunities to make an impact.

Background & qualifications


  • Has led, a small, early-stage, emerging company deemed to have high-growth potential, or which has demonstrated high-growth in its number of employees, annual revenue, or both.
  • An all-rounder who can wear many hats and add value in multiple ways.
  • Project management and strong communication skills.
  • Minimum 2 years hands on experience in at least three of these areas required: Brand Management, Product Development, Digital Marketing, Operations, Finance, HR and people operations, Legal, Accounting, Strategy and Planning, Client acquisition and Networking.


Above all, we expect the candidate to grow along with the business and take on larger responsibilities in the near future.




  • Work with project teams working on GBL’s research-based tools to carry out market research, tool development and validation, and growth as spin off entities. The initial focus will be on our worker voice tool – Inache, with subsequent opportunity to focus on that (with potential to transition to a high executive role in the spin off entity for Inache in the future) or work on our other tools.
  • Work with external partners to leverage their industry knowledge, expertise, and network for tool development and growth.
  • Identify sales leads from various platforms and connections.
  • Pitch services to new clients and maintain a good working relationship with new contacts.
  • Following up new business opportunities and setting up meetings.
  • Create avenues for long term business opportunities and keeping a structure around the process.
  • Lead associates and other team members as required to achieve desired goals.


This is a new role at GBL, you will have no predecessor. Flexibility, ability & openness to write your own Job Description and adapt to any changes is a must.


Remuneration: 12-20 LPA (the broad range is to accommodate the varied experience and skill set we anticipate in the applicant pool)


Location: This is a full-time position based in Delhi/Bangalore/Remote.
